There was a recent social media post saying that this will happen next week which surprised us.

Geoffrey analysed the situation with NZME’s Kapiti News in this post last December just before it closed, and nothing has changed as far as we can tell.

Nigel Wilson, owner of the online (only) KC News says: “It’s the same guy that is doing the Horowhenua Chronicle (which appears to be failing badly). The woman in the post Leanne Warr is likely to struggle. Their biggest problem (and there will be plenty of them) will be the costs of printing, distribution (if that is even possible and I expect it isn’t) and finding the income to pay for the whole thing. The owner is an AD [advertising] guy and so probably full of optimism, but the reality in print news is harsh. I would be surprised if it isn’t broke by Christmas.”
