A few years before those naughty Exxon scientists started working on their own models, a very troubling looking temperature record was presented to a cooling world. It’s funny how graphs change with the messaging required.

The data record prior to 1950 is extremely patchy but what we do know is it cooled from the 1930’s and 1940’s high till around 1980. Then we have satellites to give us a better record of the globe.
