There are at present about 10 Rand to a NZ dollar, so just omit the last digit to convert these. By South African standards any full time worker here is “realised middle class”, and everyone who works for the KCDC (except Crs) is “emerging affluent.” However, that doesn’t say anything about the cost of living; presumably winter heating costs there are a lot less than here, at least.
