from the Daily Standard

The United Kingdom, once the cradle of Western democracy with the Magna Carta, is rapidly transforming into a totalitarian police state worthy of Stalin. He has declared war on free speech. His target? X, the platform.
Starmer probably thought he could play dictator with impunity on his own island. He thought he could ban Elon Musk and his platform X without repercussions: well, he has another think coming.
“We will sanction Starmer and England”
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna: “If Starmer succeeds in banning X in Britain, I will pursue legislation (…) to sanction not just Starmer, but Britain as a whole,” she writes fiercely. She refers to the precedent set during the conflict with Brazil in 2024-2025. When the Brazilian government attacked freedom of speech, the US responded with tariffs, visa cancellations, and sanctions against officials.
Does he really want to risk a trade war with the US just because he’s afraid of a few critical tweets? Luna is clear: “Starmer must reconsider this course of action, or there will be consequences.”
A political war
Luna sees through Starmer’s excuses. The British Prime Minister is hiding behind “technical problems” with AI, but everyone knows that’s nonsense. “Let’s be clear: this isn’t about technical compliance,” says Luna. “This is a political war against Elon Musk and freedom of speech—nothing more.”
