Good news for Waikanae Park users, designs for the new skatepark and refreshed playground are now final. Thanks to everyone who contributed feedback to ensure this refresh delivers a modern, inclusive, and fun play space that meets the needs of our growing community.
Work to prepare the site for construction starts next week with the relocation of the pump track to Waikanae North Reserve. Construction work will take place in two stages:
- March to June – skatepark construction
- June to November – construction of the new playground and toilet block.
To keep you safe, some areas of the park will be cordoned off to enable us to get on with the job. The existing playground will remain open until June and you can enjoy this space until work gets underway.
