Over the past two years, we’ve been replacing 50-year old equipment and earthquake strengthening the Waikanae Water Treatment Plant to ensure the drinking water supply for Waikanae, Paraparaumu, and Raumati is secure and resilient.

Most of the heavy lifting is done and the landscaping is taking shape. Recent milestones include two new high‑lift pumps, each sending up to 150 litres a second to the reservoir.

Next up, a roof to protect the new chemical tank farm, replacing an aging filter turbine backwash pump and installing a new one. The work is on track for completion by spring.
