The prunus trees at the Belvedere Road entrance a couple of days ago.  This is normally the parking lot, but being school holidays, it was empty.

They are just self-sown exotics and there are lots of them in Waikanae.  Most of the time they are unexciting, but for about 2 weeks in Spring and another 2 weeks in Autumn they display some nice colour.

The turf just beyond the fence is artificial.  This was the subject of a WCB grant a few months ago.
