During last year’s election campaign one of our readers commented on the disparity in the age of Cr Holborow (and now the deputy mayor)’s published photo in the KCDC official booklet/website — and her current appearance.

We chose not to deal with that at the time, as it’s what candidates do or want to do that matters; but with the election now history, it’s worth some amusement.

Section 61 of the Local Elections Act 2001 deals with the subject of Candidate Profile Statements, which merely states the photo must be ‘recent’, although the KCDC info pack was more specific; no older than 6 months.

Well, we agree that Cr Holborow’s photo was a lot more than 6 months old; even 6 years old would be questionable.
