Media release from the KCDC
Following the launch of a multimedia exhibition showcasing the journey of the Treaty of Waitangi through the Kapiti Coast District, the Council is taking the show on the road.
The display, Te Tiriti: ‘Me huri whakamuri, ka titiro whakamua’, was launched on Waitangi Day and focuses on the relationship and significance of the Treaty of Waitangi to the Kapiti Coast.
Mayor Gurunathan says that the exhibition -– featuring a printed historical account, photographs, maps, and a documentary of interviews with living relatives of Treaty signatories –- is a valuable educational tool for Kapiti Coast residents who want to learn more about our district’s rich cultural history.
