Today was one of those unusual Wellington winter days: calm and sunny. And that seemed to reflect on the faces of Kris Faafoi and Kapiti supporters who were at Parliament to present the Kapiti Hospital petition to Kris Faafoi, the Minister of Civil Defence and MP for Mana. The petition calling for a hospital at Kapiti was signed by more than 22,000 residents.
The main petition organisers, Sue Emerali, Conrad Petersen and Kevin Burrows presented the petition to the Minster on the steps of Parliament. which in turn was presented in Parliament today. The only elected Kapiti representatives in attendance were Kathy Spiers and Bernie Randall, which was rather disappointing, but the enthusiasm of those present made up for the lack of elected representatives.
