The KCDC has finished widening the footpath along Te Moana Road between Park Avenue and the Expressway, with just the grass left to resow. This widened path now provides enough room for pedestrians and cyclists to share the space together.

Any idea how the width of this shared path compares with the 2.5m planned for Ngaio Road?
Simply by looking at the photo it seems about that. But the difference in Ngaio Road is that the council frontage is a lot narrower, and a concrete strip is about all you’ll see on if it it proceeds.
I like the Te Moana changes – wouldn’t be so happy with the same width on Ngaio. What’s wrong with it the way it is?
Would be nice to have the whole road in asphalt, instead of the 3 bits of very noisy chip and 4 bits of quiet asphalt.
