Not only the Main Road, but this is the scene now in Mahara Place, and we’re told it won’t be completed until August. In fact, it won’t surprise us if it’s like this till the end of the year.
At the presentation last year the KCDC person said that they had $1 million to spend on Mahara Place “but we all know that doesn’t go very far” — it’s sure to be at least that much.
I fear that anything the council touches turns into a money pit, leaving nothing for the core services.
Wonder what is happening to the pavers at $0.30 each say secondhand?
you’d like to think they’ll be reused somewhere, but knowing the council’s propensity for wastefulness, they’ll be offered to a contractor super-cheap as you suggest….
