Usually in May, it’s outrage about the KCDC annual massive Rates hike that prompts a surge of visits, but in this past month the increase has come from Australian viewers — quite likely ex-pats concerned about the Jacinda government’s repression of political opponents.

So have locals now become resigned to KCDC Rates increasing every year well up on inflation? Do they think it’s the down-side of living in Waikanae, and Kapiti generally, so it’s a case of either coping with it somehow, or moving somewhere else?

Hopefully not.
