Businesses that have claimed wage subsidies that they now think they might not be entitled to have been warned by Finance Minister Grant Robertson to come forward.
A total of $17.5 million of wage subsidies is being repaid by more than 1200 companies.
After being named and shamed by Opposition Leader Simon Bridges, two of the mega-rich law firms he and the media mentioned, including Simpson Grierson, decided it would better for them to repay their big wage subsidies now, rather than face prosecution for fraud. But there will be others who haven’t.
