NZ was put into Lockdown Level 4 by Dear Leader at midnight on 25 March 2020. Travel plans had to be replaced with what people could find on the web and the ‘Great Indoors.’

After about 7 weeks the restrictions were relaxed. NZ had a very small number of cv-19 cases and the precautions that were emphasised throughout — social distancing, washing hands regularly and, most significantly, staying home if feeling unwell — saw cases of regular ‘flu drop substantially during the winter.

People used to go to work, school etc. when they weren’t feeling well. Nobody dares do that now; maybe this winter will likewise see much reduced ‘flu cases, and without lockdown.
