Poetry at The Fringe
Guest Poet: Poet Richard Langston will read from his latest poetry collection, Five O’Clock Shadows (Cuba Press, 2020). Richard writes poems that return over and over to the land and the collection is an offering to the country of his bones and of his heart.
Guest Musician: Guitarist Duleep DeSilva played after work and on weekends at tourist hotels as a young man in Sri Lanka. In New Zealand in the ’90s he was the lead singer/guitarist of Latin American trio ‘Romanza’. Duleep now performs mainly as a soloist.
Plus: Open Mic from 4pm – spoken word and musical items welcome

A new book from Landing Press
Adrienne Jansen is putting on a poetry reading at St Peter’s Hall Paekakariki on Sunday May 2nd from 4-5.30pm. Poets from Landing Press book Somewhere a cleaner. Rob Hack will be m.c. and Don Franks will be providing some songs. This is always a fun venue and Sunday afternoons are a great time to round off the weekend with poetry!
