The know all kiddies will save us all. Well, first they will want to get rid of our modern lifestyle, food, cars, and everything else made with the use of oil. Won’t be much left but the kiddies who think they know everything will be so very happy.

Pure democracy is effectively- rule by the people.
Ratepayers fund the salaries of all appointed staff and are owed ready access to information that demonstrates how that staff time is utilised.
The notion that ‘the business as usual work’ of the Strategy and Growth Group should encompass writing a submission around the proposed lowering of the voting age for local government elections- in the total absence of consultation with ratepayers flies completely in the face of democratic principles.
How this submission written by a salaried few on behalf of the ratepayer base will impact ‘on the wellbeing of the community’ is mystifying at best.
As an appreciative recipient of former response suppport of the Democracy Services Team when presenting within the Council Chamber – the apparent lack of record of how appointed staff time is spent (a record central to performance management and reward) signifies compromised internal accounting.
