A message from the council
We’ve kicked off a new battery recycling trial to help divert hazardous waste from landfill. From tomorrow, household batteries can be dropped off at our new purpose-built recycling station at Paraparaumu Library (a big thanks to MenzShed for helping with the beautiful recycling station).
Most of the components in domestic batteries may be reused in new batteries and steel building reinforcing rods – so this is a great step.
If the trial goes well, we’ll be looking at installing similar recycling stations at our other libraries.
Wow finally an actual useful project.
