Another State Department official has resigned over U.S. support of Israel. In a letter published to CNN, Annelle Sheline says that the Biden administration “is directly enabling what the International Court of Justice has said could plausibly be a genocide in Gaza.” Here is an excerpt from her letter: 

Whatever credibility the United States had as an advocate for human rights has almost entirely vanished since the war began. Members of civil society have refused to respond to my efforts to contact them. Our office seeks to support journalists in the Middle East; yet when asked by NGOs if the US can help when Palestinian journalists are detained or killed in Gaza, I was disappointed that my government didn’t do more to protect them. Ninety Palestinian journalists in Gaza have been killed in the last five months, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists. That is the most recorded in any single conflict since the CPJ started collecting data in 1992.

By resigning publicly, I am saddened by the knowledge that I likely foreclose a future at the State Department. I had not initially planned a public resignation. Because my time at State had been so short — I was hired on a two-year contract — I did not think I mattered enough to announce my resignation publicly. However, when I started to tell colleagues of my decision to resign, the response I heard repeatedly was, “Please speak for us.”

Sheline’s resignation is going viral. She is the third government official to publicly resign after Josh Paul, who resigned in October, and Tariq Habash who resigned in January. 

Will it matter? It doesn’t seem to.

It blew the Ukrainian and Western cover when the perpetrators were apprehended.

Accusing ISIS sounds like a mere way of disguising the real culprits.

The recent terrorist attack on Crocus City Hall, in the suburbs of Moscow, has made many internet users pay attention to the Russian scenario, generating curiosity in Western public opinion. However, as expected, the anti-Russian media outlets are spreading rumors designed to disguise the truth about what happened in Krasnogorsk.

The attack was carried out by four gunmen who entered the Crocus facilities and murdered more than 140 Russian civilians and wounded over 360. After the massacre, the killers escaped and hours later were captured by Russian security forces while trying to cross the border into Ukraine in Bryansk oblast. They claimed they were hired via Telegram and received weapons from the hirers to conduct the attack. The reward for terrorist service would be half a million Russian rubles.

Western media rushed to publish materials claiming that Kiev was not related to the attack. Reports began to emerge linking the shooters to ISIS, but without showing sufficient evidence to prove this hypothesis. Subsequently, the arrested terrorists had their identities discovered and indeed appear to have links to Islamic extremism, but it is still unclear about any real affiliation with ISIS.

There are some points to be clarified in order to understand the case based on the information available so far. Although investigations are still ongoing, it is possible to draw some partial conclusions based on the evidence presented. First of all, it is necessary to emphasize that the terrorist operation was extremely complex, involving multiple agents and a profound ability to circumvent Moscow’s security mechanisms.

Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland of the Republic of Niger Abdourahamane Tchiani, who expressed solidarity with the Russian people and heartfelt condolences over the numerous victims of the heinous terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall.

In discussing the bilateral agenda, the leaders expressed determination to step up political dialogue and develop mutually beneficial cooperation in various spheres.

They also exchanged views on the developments in the Sahel-Sahara region with an emphasis on coordination of security and counterterrorism efforts.

As mentioned in posts last year, Niger and several other African countries have had enough of being plundered by NATO countries and see Russia as an ally in kicking them out. —Eds

Some people are saying it was most likely an accident and not a conspiracy. After all, accidents happen. Yet the same people saying it was an accident are the same people that said the covid vaccine was ‘safe and effective’ and Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation. This is a developing story so we will have to wait for more details.

For Biden to even talk about the future is a bridge too far. After all, he can’t build a border wall—how can he build a bridge?
