We should have peace for our time in Ukraine by the end of the year and war for Iran shortly afterwards, Declan Hayes writes.
Now that Genocide Joe has chickened out of the November POTUS election [it is more likely he was pushed by the DNC —Eds], we should have peace for our time in Ukraine by the end of the year and war for Iran shortly afterwards.
That is because the Trump/Vance team should romp home to victory in November. Not only are both Trump and Vance keen to cut a deal with Russia, and not only are both firmly in Israel’s pocket, but Vance is easily the most rabidly anti-Iranian and pro-Israeli coyote in the top tier of American politics. Expect, then, the American/NATO war machine to pivot away from Ukraine, to keep China on ice and to focus on Iran, Israel’s most recent bête noire.
Regarding NATO’s war in Ukraine, we must first note that a large number of Russians are being killed. That has prompted American war criminal Lindsey Graham to declare that “the United States has never spent money so successfully as on the murder of Russians.”
Instead of imagining there is any morality in any of this, follow the money. Russia is a land power and NATO, with the United States at its heart, is a sea and air power. The idea that NATO ever genuinely thought they would prevail or, indeed, that they ever entertained any idea of prevailing in this land war is fanciful. Though the Ukrainian fatalities are horrific, they are not American fatalities and so they do not matter.
If NATO’s Ukrainian proxies kill 100,000 Russians at the cost of 1,000,000 Ukrainians, is that not a good deal? And is it not an even better deal, when we consider all of the collateral benefits, only two of which I will mention here.
The first of these is the Americans’ arms and munitions’ racket. Czech President Petr Pavel is boasting how he has ramped up the production of 155-millimeter caliber and 122-millimeter caliber ammunition. Sweden and Finland, meanwhile, have rushed to join NATO, and are now being lumbered with all the costs and none of the benefits of billeting legions of over-sexed American troops.
The Germans, meanwhile, always the dunce in NATO’s class, are reconfiguring their autobahns so that they can all the more easily shuffle NATO’s armies around on them. As von der Leyen’s Europe is, in short, a conglomeration of satrapies prepared only for making weapons of war for its American master, Europe needs to focus on an enemy to keep this racket going.
Kids are taught in school that it is not legal to own other people; that Abe Lincoln “freed the slaves.” But when those kids turn 18, they are required to “do the right thing” and sign what amounts to an indenture contract to “serve” as an unwilling mercenary, where they will no longer have any say about what they are allowed to do and will be told exactly what they must do. If they do not follow those orders, they will be punished – including physically – just the same as the field hands overseen on the plantations of the antebellum South.
The only difference is they don’t call them slaves anymore.
It’s a distinction with little difference. It’s also a barometer of the state of things in this country since Lincoln freed the slaves – from their owners – and asserted the federal government’s ownership over everyone.
The ex-slaves included. We’re all on dey plantation now.
If you choose to be free, it’s a crime. Just as it was before Lincoln freed the slaves. If a person “bound to service” – the exact term used, which is interesting given it’s the same term used now that we’re all “free” – decided to run away from his “service,” he was a fugitive from the law and subject to punishment. Very little has changed since then. If anything, it is worse since then. Slaves in the antebellum South were not required to endorse their servility by signing up for it. The slaves today are. And if they fail to do so, it is a felony.
Herewith the relevant passage:
“Not registering” for what is styled selective service, by which is meant the federal government will at its discretion dragoon whomever it selects into its service – “is a felony.” As in a federal offense. One that entails “a fine up to $250,000 and imprisonment up to five years, or both.”
Combat losses of the Ukrainian armed forces along the front have accelerated to a current average of almost two thousand men a day, according to the Russian Defense Ministry’s daily briefing and bulletin. The damage or loss of weapons is also growing fast.
In the first week of July a year ago, the average daily number of Ukrainians killed in action (KIA) was 716. In the corresponding period of this month, the KIA level has jumped to an average of 1,948 — an increase of almost threefold. In the same week of 2023, the destruction or damage of US-made M777 artillery pieces was 8; in the first week of this month, the M77 loss number was 17. These loss rates for men and weapons have remained steady.
The Ukrainians must assemble and deliver more fresh men and materiel to stave off defeat. The troops, artillery, tanks and other vehicles, plus ammunition, are delivered by train to railway stations along the front line. The Russian General Staff, headed by General Valery Gerasimov, knows the precise schedule of these trains, monitoring their departures and their speed in transit. They then prepare for their arrival at the front-line train stations where they are hit by a combination of missiles and glide bombs (FAB, Fugasnaya AviaBomba).
This is the reality of the Russian summer offensive and Ukrainian counter-offensive without the political hype and propaganda.
In the Ukrainian version of the train war, the regime of Vladimir Zelensky (lead image, left) is resisting effectively and increasing the cargo tonnage which Ukrainian Railways or Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ) is managing to pull to or from the country’s western and southern borders. This, UZ calls winning by not losing. For the ports of Poland and Romania the war windfall is profitable; for their road operators and cargo truckers, not so.
Currently there are people struggling to make ends meet and that makes life unpleasant and stressful. In situations like this I remember the old saying, ‘Make every post a winning post.’
From what I see, everything is increasing substantially in price — rates, insurance and food where incomes are not increasing to cover all the outgoings. In situations like this one tends to ‘clutch at straws’ rather than make a firm stand of the situation.
The Depression of the 1930s was a defining period in New Zealand history. It had its own vocabulary – swaggers and sugarbags, relief work and sustenance, the Queen Street riots and special constables – that was all too familiar to those who lived through that tumultuous decade.
Homeowners and farmers were better equipped back then to handle the food problem with many homeowners having quarter acre (1000 sq metre) sections and those that lived through those times had in the years following big vegetable gardens along with chickens and pantries full of preserves and jams, pickles etc.
They were well prepared for hard times and had food on the table even if their pockets were empty.
Nowadays we don’t have good size sections but for many still a bit of land for gardens and likely a lawn as well.
Now my readers will either have their home owned or rented, but will be on land which can be made more productive and reduce the cost of living. Many will be either renting or in retirement villages where there is little land available or no opportunity to grow much food. There is always an answer to any problem.
Many years ago at a time when there was hardship again. I suggested that there would be elderly people living in homes where there is land to garden and likely vegetable plots that now grow weeds as the people are not able to garden as they used to. I am sure that many of the people in that circumstance would be happy to see a fit person come in and plant up vegetables and share the produce.
If you don’t have land then utilize someone’s land that they are not using. How do you find someone that has land and can’t garden? There is through the Internet the ‘Neighborly bulletin boards’ which are free to advertise on.
Also there is Grey Power offices in most places which have good contact with elderly people that you can approach and they maybe able to match up for a good arrangement.
People with land and gardens also may not be utilizing all the land they have and can increase their food growing areas by turning lawn into productive gardens.
I have seen in the past older Chinese people owning or renting a place where all available land front and back was in highly productive vegetable gardens. I can tell you it looked far better than green lawns that you have to mow at a cost.
In days gone by one would have a good-sized area of lawn at the back to play cricket or football with the kids — those days have gone, by and large, kids grown up have moved on or back living with you as they can’t afford to buy a house and rents are too dear.
They may be interested in learning the skills of gardening and muck in, producing good healthy food at a very low cost in money terms but a higher labour input. Which is good exercise, you get some free vitamin D from sunlight (as long as you are sensible by gradually increasing exposure time) and throw away those harmful sunscreens that prevent you gaining free Vitamin D. Also you get some exercise through gardening and so save on gym fees.
Growing your own food naturally has the biggest savings of all. It reduces the outlay of buying unhealthy commercially produced food. Grown naturally with minerals and elements, you are growing health bombs which will improve your current health and help prevent future ailments which are expensive and not nice. You will live longer and healthier and have a better chance of not ‘losing your marbles’ later in life.
Hopefully, I have sold you on the idea of saving money and being much healthier.
There is also much satisfaction when sitting down to a meal which all the vegetables you eat have been picked truly fresh out of your own garden. You will find they are very filling, ‘taste out of this world’ and you do not have to eat much to feel satisfied which will mean better weight control.
Your motor mower eats grass you don’t! So dig up a lawn area that gets a reasonable amount of sunlight.
We are now into a new growing season and this is the very best time to get gardening.
A bit of exercise with a spade or shovel and you cut squares the size of your spade blade, lift the turf and turn it upside down back into the ground, leaving exposed dirt and buried grass which will rot and become food for your vegetables you plant.
Sprinkle garden lime over the soil and leave for a week or so, then lightly rake to make the soil friable.
An alternative to digging up your lawn is the cardboard garden which I suggested in my latest book.
It involves more expense as you need to buy a few bags of compost, but a lot less labour and it is instant. What you do is get a stack of cardboard boxes from some retailer such as a supermarket that throws them out.
Cut them so the whole thing will lay flat and cover the area of the lawn you want to make into a garden. It is a good idea to start off small with area about a metre wide and about 4-5 metres long or as many metres long as you wish.
You can always increase the area as you become more enthusiastic.
It is a good ideal to leave lawn around the perimeter of the plot which will become walking areas to tend the garden from; instead of actually walking on the garden and compressing the soil.
But dig a trench about a half spade deep around the perimeter to create a moat which will help with drainage during wet times and also it separates the garden from the lawn for mowing.
Now whether you have dug or cardboarded the new veggie plot, you are ready to plant.
You could go out and buy seedlings, but instead why not buy a couple of packets of seeds?
You get more plants for your money, you have a lot of seeds which you can plant for succession, and anything grown from seed in the soil will mature and will be far superior to any seedling you transplant.
I would suggest any of the following seeds to start off with if you are newer to gardening:
Silverbeet, lettuce and spring onions. There is one product I suggest you invest in and that is our Magic Botanic Liquid (MBL) because it is the best natural gardening product you can invest in for great healthy vegetables quickly.
You take some seeds out of the packets and the plants I have mentioned are good size seeds and easy to handle.
You look at the planting spaces that are suggested on the packet and you put two seeds together at that planting space. You push the seeds into the soil a centimeter deep and then you spray them with MBL (made up in a trigger sprayer) then cover the seed with a little soil.
Keep the area planted moist with light watering and in next to no time the seeds should germinate if they are viable seeds.
Now if only one germinates then no problem, if two germinate you allow them to grow till they are about 3 cm tall and the with a pair of scissors you cut the one that is not the best one off at ground level and leave the foliage laying on the soil so the root system left and the cut foliage become the initial extra food for your plants left to grow. Now with the MBL in the trigger sprayer you are going to spray your seedlings once or twice a week till all has been used up, then make up a fresh batch.
You will have a lot of seeds left in the packets so to ensure they are kept good for future planting simply put into a small glass jar with a lid and then store in the fridge.
Later on when your crop has reached maturity and you are harvesting, you will judge which plant is the best and not harvest it; instead let it mature and go to seed.
When the seed is ripe you will pick and allow to dry in a saucer on a windowsill indoors and then put into a plastic bag with name of vegetable type and the date; then they go into the glass jar in fridge for future use.
At that time, any original seeds purchased can be given away to family or friends. You now have your own seed bank that have grown on your land and are already superior to any that you can buy.
You will repeat this every time you grow a crop from your own seed to obtain a new generation of seed even more superior to the last generation.
Next week I am going to show you how to obtain the best food for your plants without spending any money buying plant fertilizers. So stay tuned and be more self-sufficient and healthier.

Barack and Michelle Obama have endorsed Kamala Harris. However, because we now live in a reality show, they did it in the most cringe Kardashian fashion possible.
The pair published posts on X, including a video of them ‘calling’ Harris to inform her they are gracing her with their endorsement.
Earlier this week, Michelle and I called our friend @KamalaHarris. We told her we think she’ll make a fantastic President of the United States, and that she has our full support. At this critical moment for our country, we’re going to do everything we can to make sure she wins in… pic.twitter.com/0UIS0doIbA
Obama wrote, “Earlier this week, Michelle and I called our friend @KamalaHarris. We told her we think she’ll make a fantastic President of the United States, and that she has our full support. At this critical moment for our country, we’re going to do everything we can to make sure she wins in November. We hope you’ll join us.”
In a separate post, Michelle Obama wrote, “I’m so proud of my girl, Kamala. Barack and I are so excited to endorse her as the Democratic nominee because of her positivity, sense of humor, and ability to bring light and hope to people all across the country. We’ve got your back, @KamalaHarris!”
This comes off as more fake than piping Biden’s voice into her event earlier this week.
The move came just a day after a Biden family source claimed that Obama was not endorsing Harris yet because he doesn’t believe she can beat Trump.
An application for a 21-lot subdivision, earthworks, and construction of 20 dwellings at 14 Ngarara Road is with the KCDC.
The property was sold in September 2023 so it’s pretty obvious the buyer was a property developer. The land area is 4864 sq metres (the existing house occupies about 10% of that.) Dividing 4864 by 21 is 231 sq metre lots on average, so they will need to be smaller houses than is typical if there is going to be one house on each. Presumably one lot is intended for “communal space”?
No decision has been made yet on it, however, we wonder how neighbours will feel about having a commune developed next to them. We were alerted to this by Cr Nigel Wilson who is very unhappy and comments: “it is scandalous. I raised it at council during the week. it is already carnage setting in from the very poorly designed Plan Change 2.”
Will the Resource Consent, assuming it is granted as applied for, be notified, meaning people can lodge objections? Nigel says, “It better be. There are plenty of questions about the process so far.”

The enforcement head of Comrade Jacinda’s fascism and racial policies, Coster was a public relations disaster.
by Heather du Plessis-Allan
So Andrew Coster has revealed he will not be seeking a second term as Police Commissioner.
Which will upset…almost no one.
I think most of us will be happy to see the back of him.
Because while he does seem like a decent and smart guy [oh yeah? —Eds], he has been rubbish at the job.
This will be good for Police morale, I think, because they have been quite vocal about the fact that they have been unhappy being led by a man who doesn’t seem to actually want to chase down the bad guys quite as much as they do.
And it will be good for public confidence too because I think we would also prefer a Police boss who wants to lock up the perpetrators of this current crime problem we’re experiencing.
Now to be fair to Andrew Coster, the fact that he’s not seeking a second term isn’t really that unusual in Police bosses — we haven’t had one go longer than six years since the 1940s.
But the trouble for him is that we all know at least part of the reason he’s going is because he isn’t wanted.
I mean, that was made abundantly clear when after the election, the new Police Minister wouldn’t express confidence in Coster. It was even more obvious when Mark Mitchell published that letter telling Coster how to do his job.
Even if he wanted the job, he would’ve already been told by now behind closed doors that that ain’t happening.
“She is a politician, and she’s interested in the accumulation of power and control. I think she believes in government, like most Marxists. I think she is a Marxist.”
America’s media has quickly proven that it will do whatever is necessary to ensure she wins in November.
Harris, a historically unpopular figure, is receiving the kind of coverage you’d expect for a leader with a 90% approval rating, not one buried in the 30s like hers.
Why is that? And how big of an impact could it have on the race for the White House? Dr. Ben Carson, having run for president himself in 2016, has seen the corrupt press’ profound influence in ways that few other Americans have, making him the perfect person to hear from as the corporate media tries to swing this election in Harris’ favor.
Carson joined the Tucker Carlson Show to talk politics, his experience as a Trump cabinet member, race riots, and more.
