KCDC questions in bold and answers by reader Wayne

Thank you for completing the survey Emissions Reduction Plan 2026–30 Feedback form. Your responses are listed below for your reference:

How important is it to you that the Council reduces emissions in ways that also deliver wider benefits, such as cost savings, better health outcomes, and reducing our reliance on imported petrol and diesel? Please tick one:

Not important

Further comments on what we’re doing

it is not in your mandate, it is not law and not authorised under the local government act 2001

What do you think is currently working well in terms of reducing emissions across Kāpiti?

Nothing; it is a pointless virtue signalling exercise aimed to make you look good in the eyes of the public, as part of a very woke agenda.

Overall, do you support the actions in the draft Emissions Reduction Plan 2026-30? Please tick one:

Strongly oppose

Further comments on actions

None

What additional opportunities to reduce emissions do you think the Council should consider?

None

Are there any impacts or consequences of reducing emissions in Kāpiti that the Council should be aware of?

You should be aware of the fact that you have spent $12.67 Million dollars on Takutai-CAP, the Jacob’s and AWA Flood map reports along with various other climatist fear mongering activities, qualifications on LIMs , fictional ‘hazard’ reports and various evidential matter that is currently being collected for Court action against you. ALL of your extremist RCP 8.5 scenarios that have recently been abandoned by the IPCC.

Unless KCDC wakes up to the actual science, your emissions and unfounded climatist actions are going to be extremely costly to the ratepayers — resulting in more court action that is coincidentally appearing up and down the country it is noted that this ‘strawman’ — have your say , after the event will not be considered, like all the others gone before [2022, 2025 etc..].

Please note the letter from Ministry for Environment dated 20 November 2023 to Darren Edwards, you are currently acting outside the law and outside CPS 2010 — there is no Emissions Strategy plan required under NZ Law. https://www.kapiticoast.govt.nz/media/qbinbq04/cord-225-darren-edwards.pdf

What type of support would make the biggest difference to help you (your family / household / business / local community) reduce emissions and seize the benefits of decarbonisation?

Something else (please specify) — NONE

Further comments on what you can do

New Zealand has no impact on the world situation Climate change ans emissions have been happening for Millions of years . The IPCC has officially ditched RCP 8.5

The IPCC Report AR6 three years ago stated that RCP 8.5 was implausible MfE gave guidelines over two years ago that that RCP 8.5 was not to be used for policy, only for extreme stress testing where previously applied now dismantled .

The AWA flood map reports used RCP 8.5 H+

noting the very own statement of Takutai-CAP’s Dr “For the 21st century, this range will be smaller than assessed before: on the high-end of the range, the CMIP6 high emission levels (quantified by SSP5-8.5) have become implausible, based on trends in the costs of renewables, the emergence of climate policy and recent emission trends.”
