This last week has been busy but next week is even bigger and all the details are below. I hope you can join us:

  • Nicola Willis is here on Tuesday for a campaign rally, and
  • Mark Mitchell is here on Monday for minigolf and drinks

This election will be close, but it’s also really important. There is a very clear difference between National who are campaigning on no new taxes and improving affordability for families, and opposition parties who want to take more and spend more and create more debt.
This week treasury released their pre-election update and it shows our plan is working. We’re borrowing $15 billion less than expected, inflation will be under 2% by July, and NZ will be earning more than it spends each year by July 2028 (for the first time in years) – the outlook is even more positive that people expected. That means 220,000 new jobs are expected by 2030, it means wages will go up more than prices do, and that all means life becomes more affordable. That’s what a vote for National delivers this year.

Join me and Nicola Willis

On Tuesday you can just us for our campaign rally in the evening at the Waikanae Golf Club as we mark one month to go! Join us 5.30-7pm, the club will have the bar open (all profits to the club, not National) and as well as a chance to mix and network, you can hear from Nicola and me about our plan to Fix the Basics and Build the Future.

We’re also holding a very casual meet-up for businesses in Plimmerton (and all the surrounding areas). Urban Bake House, 25 Ulric St, Plimmerton, 10am. Come along, buy a coffee or something to eat and chat with Nicola and me. Also great networking with local businesses.

Mini-golf fun with me and Mitch!

Because you have to have some fun as well, especially in the school holidays…

Join Mark Mitchell and me on Monday for some (free) minigolf. It would be great to see some families, kids and grandkids down there having some school holiday fun. The team at Golf for Good are showing off the course and their amazing work to Mark and we are all keen to see some local families join us. This is a great opportunity to come along, chat with us and play some free minigolf.

First responder drinks

Join us at the pub. It’s the second one of these meet-ups I’ve run especially for our first-responders, and those who serve. It doesn’t matter if you are a 111 service, military, a surf lifesaver, coastguard, or anyone else. If you’re a first responder, or you once were; if you served in NZ or overseas: you are welcome to join us. The Jolly Pub, Mazengarb Road, Paraparaumu, 5.30-6.30pm.

Thank you for your support last week

We had some great public events last week, and a great turn-out at our health meeting. I hope you can join us at one of these events over the next week. I’m working hard to earn your support this year, and I’d love you to give both your votes to National and to me in this year’s election.
