Special votes need to be added, but they won’t affect the outcome. The result is what we fully expected.

As readers know, the government parties — National/ACT/NZ First — together got about half the vote and the Left bloc — Labour/Green/TPM/OP — slightly under half, but in this case special votes could change that and we’ll comment more when the final figures are in.
