Garden Fence Wars

11 Tuesday Aug 2020

On a British gardening blog.  Good neighbourliness involves the two neighbours discussing and agreeing this sort of thing before it happens.  In Kapiti a fence over 2.5 metres in height (not on a street frontage) requires council consent — and an addition like this is pretty close to what you could consider an increase in the height of the fence.

You may not be interested in the Fence Wars of our neighbours, but as it was only yesterday that I mentioned it, and there were ‘developments’ today, I thought some of you might be curious. Sometime early this morning (and perhaps under cover of darkness…?!) a trellis was attached to the bare fence posts and covered with fine mesh, the same kind of mesh that had been attached to our boundary (next to the cutting beds and fruit cage) a day or so after I had the audacity to make myself known to the young man living there when he walked past on the other side of the fence…

Sweden: the One Chart that Matters, by Mike Whitney

30 Thursday Jul 2020

You never hear about Sweden anymore, at least not from the people who tried to demonize it early on in the coronavirus outbreak. While the Covid-19 epidemic continues to drag on in the United States, it’s largely over in Sweden where fatalities have dropped to no more than 2 deaths per day for the last week. Sweden has been harshly criticized in the media for not imposing draconian lockdowns like the United States and the other European countries. Instead, Sweden implemented a policy that was both conventional and sensible. They recommended that people maintain a safe distance between each other and they banned gatherings of 50 people or more. They also asked their elderly citizens to isolate themselves and to avoid interacting with other people as much as possible. Other than that, Swedes were encouraged to work, exercise and get on with their lives as they would normally […]

Every summer, a small team of dedicated rangers and volunteers goes into full alert at the slightest hint of a summer storm, or king tide, in order to protect our most endangered bird, the the tara iti/fairy tern. With a population of just 40, every egg and chick counts.

Paying for Your New Electric Vehicle… Even if You Don’t Own One, by Eric Peters

10 Friday Jul 2020

There are a lot of ways you’re paying for electric vehicles. From Eric Peters at ericpetersautos.com: For now, they’re only requiring that electric cars be manufactured. How long will it be before they require people to buy them? Actually, you’re already paying for them. Several ways. New ways. The obvious way is in the form […]

Again, What Were the Benefits of Locking Down? by Edward Peter Stringham

29 Monday Jun 2020

The states without strict lockdowns have done better on both economic and medical metrics than the states with strict lockdowns. From Edward Peter Stringham at aier.org: The school closures, stay home orders, shuttering of businesses, banning of elective surgeries, closure of physical entertainment events, blocked flights, and sudden imposition of a central plan – it […]

What no political party talks about [except one] … lending you non existent money (credit) at interest … governments (that are corporations in fact) borrowing from private banks that you pay interest on. Important info. EWR

Jacinda’s COVID Coup – How do we take our country back?

26 Friday Jun 2020

Posted by Waikanae watchers in Uncategorized

Jacinda Ardern is now the ‘poster politician’ of the world. She ‘crushed the curve’ and showed the world how to act ‘early and decisively’ to defeat this unprecedented threat to New Zealand and the world. It sounds good. It looks good. We can quite rightly be proud Kiwis leading the world. Or can we?

Underneath the daily COVID media circus, was it actually something very different? Was it in fact New Zealand’s darkest hour? Did Jacinda Ardern, under the direction of the United Nations and very powerful global financial and corporate influencers, just commit the most devastating attack on our nation’s sovereignty and freedom in our short history? Was this in fact Jacinda Ardern’s COVID Coup? If it was, what can the people of New Zealand now do about it? […]

“I think it may have cost lives” – Nobel Prize winner slams Lockdowns as product of “Panic Virus”, by Tyler Durden

26 Tuesday May 2020

The covidiots have had to acknowledge the failure of their models. Now they have to confront the possibility that lockdowns did more medical harm (not to mention the damage to the economy and destruction of civil liberties) than good. From Tyler Durden at zerohedge.com: As the “stay home, save lives” crowd confronts the fact that […]

Coronavirus and Dodgy Death Numbers, by F. William Engdahl

Neither the tests for coronavirus nor the number of deaths attributed to it can be trusted. From F. William Engdahl at globalresearch.ca: Not only are the coronavirus models being used by WHO and the most national health agencies based on highly dubious methodologies, and not only are the tests being used of wildly different quality, […]
