It also happens to be Arbor Day in New Zealand — so why not mark it by planting a native tree in your front or back yard?

We have several puriri and kowhai seedlings in our garden that we are happy to provide free to locals in the Waikanae area.  Let us do something to counter the miles of tarmac that are replacing fields and trees with the Expressway, not to mention the new housing subdivisions, about which we have had plenty to say.
