As has been made clear by many of its residents, the Waikanae Beach area has a quiet minimal commercial feel to it and this must be preserved; the ‘growth and commercialisation for the sake of it’ attitude as was voiced by a notable WCB by-election candidate a few months ago is well outdated and fundamentally flawed.

As was mentioned in an earlier post, the Medical Centre development is indicative of what is likely to happen generally in that part of Waikanae once the expressway opens  — unless it is widely challenged.
