The things that your editors want to see in Waikanae before the 2020’s are out include, as well as what the WCB is looking at for the next three years (see the earlier post), a continuation of the electric suburban trains to Otaki at least and ideally to Palmerston North, a realigned Ngaio Road intersection with Omahi Street and Marae Lane, an underpass for Elizabeth Street instead of the level crossing; and a water reservoir for Waikanae and Paraparaumu tap water.

What else? For your editors, there isn’t a whole lot: we like Waikanae the way it is. But there will be growth in housing and maybe commercial premises.  What should it look like?  They are the things to contemplate and make submissions to the council when the Long Term Plan comes up for review.
