Says the KCDC:
The final touches are being made in the upgrade of the Mahara Gallery in Waikanae.
The team is busy gib-stopping, painting, and installing flooring, electric and plumbing fixtures.
Construction’s due to finish in April. The Mahara Gallery Trust will then prepare the gallery for re-opening, which is planned for July.
External works are due to begin in March. They include: building new footpaths from Marae Lane to the gallery, and along Aputa Lane to Olive Grove Café, modifications to the ramp, stairs and wall in Mahara Place, new lighting and seating to help create a plaza feel to the area and enhance the gallery’s entrance.
These works are expected to take three months.
