With Te Moana Road being used as a detour route during the installation of the clip-on cycle lane on the old SH1 bridge, traffic on Te Moana Rd between the old SH1 and the Ewy will increase.
The three crossing points – near Fleetwood Grove, Windsor Avenue and Nimmo Avenue – will be used as a trial ahead of permanent crossings being installed. The NZ Transport Agency is expected to start work on the clip-on next Tuesday, 16 January.

With the river track closed at Karu Crescent and walkers/cyclists forced onto Karu Crecent why not a footpath from there up to the pedestrian crossing lights on old highway/ Te Moana Road intersection instead of crossing 4 lanes to Marae Lane to access town centre/train station.
There will be more crossing there than the other 3 proposed crossings combined daily. Thoughts.
All helps to stop the flow of traffic and increase the co2 emissions. Really all bicycle owners should pay a rego fee for all the millions spent on them.
