The NZ Transport Agency is the country’s second most despised Government Agency after Health NZ and its boss is killing every sensible option, our ability to use our roads and the country’s economic future. She uses the maori “knowledge” of transport — presumably that means knowing how to create and paddle a waka!

Getting NZ back on track may be a bigger job than the new coalition govt realises. I’ve just listened to a series of speeches by the Chief Executive of NZ Transport Agency. Ms Nicole Rosie.
I saw an absolutely staggering degree of devotion to “Woke” and Green Left ideology, and if this is an example of how all NZ government agencies operate today, then we’re in a deep dark swamp that we may never crawl out of.
Not one word about fixing potholes. Its all diversity, inclusion, sustainability, and Maori partnerships. And did I mention sustainability?
Their main mission is not to build fast efficient roads, but to reduce by any possible means, Vehicle Kilometres Traveled (VKT) in private cars. Fine with the WEF no doubt, but exactly the opposite of what most NZ voters want.
The above video (if you can stomach it) is only three minutes but its pretty much representative of the whole 20 minute speech.
If the new government truly wants to fix our transport network, we need a sharp focus on building fast efficient roads. Everything else is just time/money wasting overkill that needs to go.
The fix must also start at the top. If Ms Rosie can’t be made to understand the simplified mission, she should be told to quit her job right now. Her next career step could be a candidacy for the Green Party.
Those interested in reading NZTA’s last annual report (to 30 June 2023) can read it here. Page 120 reveals that two people — which must include Ms Rosie — were paid between $720,000 and $730,000. Being a Wokeist Policy Wonk under the last government could be lucrative!
NZRTA needs to learn how to design roundabouts and enhances to motorways, What looks pretty on paper with all the sharp curves is a nightmare to drive through placing stress on vehicles and using extra fuel to slow right down and then speeding up to join the traffic flow. They have no idea on traffic flow it seems.
They have no interest in traffic flow it seems. The goal is to reduce and eliminate vehicle use. But they are increasing other options – you can walk or use your bike!
