This was the provisional vote: totals for both Yes and No will be up on these, however, the outcome won’t change. Only one candidate nominated for the new Maori ward, so there was no vote (elected unopposed).

The figures don’t necessarily reflect the left bloc/right bloc political divide in the region, simply that a lot more Leftists voted. Turnout in parliamentary elections is well up on this total.
