Berlin was carpet bombed during World Wat II so the present day appearance doesn’t much ressemble what it used to look like. Old postcards and AI help recreate it. It should be mentioned that if the Nazis had stayed in power this would have happened anyway without British and American bombing — they were planning to create a brand new city called Germania and Albert Speer produced architectural models of what it would look like, pictures of which can be searched for.
