We understand this is for a period of 5 months until a full time replacement for Mr Dougherty is found.
Gary Simpson, now 65, was Porirua City Council’s chief executive from 2010 to 1 September 2015 when he decided to retire. Aside from the period from 2007 until 2010, Simpson had been employed by the Porirua City Council since 1987.
He was a bloody good senior manager when he was at KCDC. I think the community is lucky to have him.
