Councils across the country are having to deal with an increasing number of unpaid and defaulted rates, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The problem is being discussed by Auckland Council at their meeting today, but they’re not the only region facing severe rates shortfalls.
The President at Local Government New Zealand, Dave Cull, spoke to Māni Dunlop.
And the majority of Kapiti councillors want Rates to go up yet again… It’s almost certain that the actual take will be down because of non-payments, however.
