Based on typical building experience noted recently, it should be there well into 2023. A message from the council:

Artists from the Kāpiti Art Studio have nearly completed their mural in Mahara Place, Waikanae. The mural, funded by our Public Art Programme, features on the sides of a temporary ramp built over part of the stairs near Olive Grove Café. It’ll remain in place until around the end of this year.

Mahara Gallery Director Janet Bayly says the colourful mural unfolding in Mahara Place celebrates accessibility and creative expression for all the artists in Kāpiti Art Studio, and is bringing joy to everyone in the community.

Kāpiti Art Studio is a creative space where people who face participation barriers to the arts can express themselves creatively and connect with others in the community.
