It’s been a busy spring with lots of new and not-so-new gardeners working to grow some vegetables and flowers for pleasure.

Doing the gardening show with Rodney Hide on Reality Check Radio has increased the phone calls to my 0800 number with a number of people saying that they have listened to the pod recordings and have been encouraged to get back into Nature and the garden.

A few have told me the likes of ‘I have been gardening for 50 years, but have learnt so much from listening to you’. That has amazed me and made me think that the information about gardening that I write about and talk about is, in some cases, news to some experienced gardeners several years older than myself.

Maybe I just have learnt a few methods along the way that others have not thought of or used to make gardening easier and more enjoyable. This brings me to a point: Gardening should be a pleasure, not a chore. Even mowing the lawn gives a certain amount of pleasure; as well as a bit of exercise. The pleasure comes when you finish mowing and you look at the lawns and they look so much better from your efforts, which is your reward.

Years ago when I used to be invited to judge gardens for various areas and awards, I often saw beautiful gardens spoilt by a shabby lawn which marked them down, while a great looking lawn increased the value of average gardens. The lawn is to a garden what the frame is to a picture.

Well as I am getting older by the day, like everyone else, I felt maybe its time I wrote another gardening book. So over the last few months I have been working on this new book which I have called Gardening with Wally Richards.

I have endeavored to write about various problems and methods that have happened since I wrote my original book, Wally’s Down to Earth Gardening Guide in 2006 and then the revised edition in 2011 the later is now out of print and the original is nearly out of print.

The new book is based on some of the articles that I have written over the last 20 odd years and more so on recent publications. I know that a number of gardeners keep my weekly articles for future reference and the new book puts the ones I consider the most important ones into a neat 200 page book.

I spoke to the printers about having the book printed by early December as some may like to have it for Christmas and it would be a suitable gift for friends and family. They said printing is no problem but getting the bookbinders to bind the book this time of the year is more of a problem cause they will be busy doing new school books for next year. So I opted to just have 500 books printed as my printer said great they will be ready on 8 December to pick up.

Pfizer has filed a lawsuit against Poland because the country doesn’t want to buy more contracted doses of the company’s covid alleged ‘vaccine.’

A spokesperson for Poland’s health ministry, Iwona Kania, told local news outlet TVN24 on Thursday that over a year of negotiations failed to yield a compromise over tens of millions of contracted doses that Poland doesn’t want to buy—and so Pfizer has filed a lawsuit.

Pfizer’s civil suit, filed earlier this week in Brussels, Belgium, demands that the Polish government pay roughly $1.5 billion for the 60 million doses of Pfizer’s Covid-19 ‘vaccine’ that Polish authorities said last year they no longer want to purchase, according to Polish news outlet Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, which was the first to report on the terms of the suit.

Dr Blaylock also explains in detail the mechanisms that cause the damage and used several published papers to demonstrate the harm. And ends with some advice for those who have been vaccine-injured.

An invented language

The native people of New Zealand had no written language before the settlers began arriving in the late 18^th and early 19^th century. It was missionaries who put together the early Maori dictionaries. The first was devised by Anglican cleric William Williams. Today the Maori Language Commission is constantly making up new Te Reo words and the Stuffers’ The Post has a new one each day at the bottom of page one. One of the most ridiculous new words the Commission made up was moemoea for Surrealism. It featured at the Te Papa exhibition a few years ago and, as expected, the Te Reo descriptions of the exhibits came first.

There are no New Zealanders with more that 50% Maori blood and those who call themselves Maori make up about 17% of the population. The number of people who actually regularly communicate in Te Reo is probably under 5% of the total population.

Nevertheless, in 1987 Te Reo was made one of our three official languages along with English and sign language. Today all government entities have Maori names, and any new organisation, building, road or facility around the towns and cities of New Zealand gets a Te Reo name. Why can’t we have English names used — a ferry called the MV Anderton, the MJ Savage Library, the Jon Trimmer Memorial Theatre? 

 “Manglish” and other absurdities

Some journalists drop Te Reo words into their English articles – words like mahi, mauri, wahine, tikanga, ao, kaupapa, mana whenua — presumably with a view to educating non-Maori speakers and getting them to use the words.  There have been inconsistencies — the Black Ferns have been referred to as wahine toa, but tane toa has not been applied to the All Blacks.

The resulting Manglish is a reminder of the emergence of Franglais many decades ago. It was a mix of French and English designed to help tourists from the United Kingdom communicate with locals across the Channel. 

All government departments now have Te Reo names and sometimes the Maori version comes first as with Oranga Tamariki–Ministry for Children. But not the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment–Hikina Whakatutuki. When the government is mentioned, the Te Reo name comes first–Te Kawanatanga o Aotearoa – New Zealand Government. 

Presumably, Aotearoa is the Maori name for the country, even though it has no provenance and as the late gistorian Michael King pointed out “… in the pre-European era, Maori had no name for the country as a whole.” They were never a united people and had no concept of a nation. Tribes and sub-tribes were where their loyalties lay.

Many people have remarked that the now defeated Labour government was trying to change the name of the country by stealth. However, if Aotearoa had been the accepted name for the natives in the first half of the nineteenth century and earlier, it would have featured in the 1935 Declaration of Independence and the 1840 Treaty of Waitangi. It didn’t, the name Nu Tirani was used.

The 2023 state education History Curriculum is chock full of Te Reo words and many are not translated. As regards lack of translation, I once attended a ceremony at the Marines Memorial in Queen Elizabeth Park near Paekakariki, when a Native American Marine who was over here in 1943, was present. Local iwi leaders spoke in Maori for at least 15 minutes while Saginaw stood leaning on his stick. There was no translation for the visitor who had travelled from the other side of the world.

Twisting our history and changing/adding names

It has been common in recent years for placenames to be changed to a Maori one. We recently passed through Bennydale and it has a new Te Reo name, Maniaiti. The signs, of course, put Maniaiti first. The small settlement of Maxwell west of W’anganui used to be a milestone coming back from Taranaki, but it’s now called Paharaka because local iwi said George Maxwell was a murderer. As Bruce Moon has pointed out, they have it wrong.

The famous Ngati Toa chief Te Rauparaha killed prisoners sometimes after torturing them, ate human flesh and collected slaves, but there is no move to change the name of Rauparaha St in Waikanae Beach or the Rauparaha arena in Porirua.

Te Reo greetings on radio and television

Radio New Zealand — the New Zealand equivalent of the BBC — is supposed to be free of political meddling. Yet now it has been hijacked, and its hapless staff obliged to dispense their daily dose of te reo. There were just a few words to begin with. Then longer sentences which have kept on growing until the keener young grovellers now begin and end their spiels with expansive swatches of a lingo understood by only a minuscule proportion of their audience. –Dave Witherow, Otago Daily Times, 3 December 2017

Don Brash has also been concerned, and agreed to be interviewed by Kim Hill on her Saturday programme a few years ago.

Brash referred to listening to the RNZ News at 6.00am in the morning and hearing Guyon Espinar giving a few sentences in Te Reo without any translation. Brash made the point that close on 100% of those listening wouldn’t have a clue what the announcer was saying.

Hill had clearly decided in advance that this interview would be about batting for her colleague and discrediting her guest. Her position seemed to be I’m right, he’s wrong and I’m going to prove it.

She was thoroughly rude and broke every rule in the RNZ Lexicon for objective interviewing.

As most readers know, the Te Reo introductions and farewells on the Legacy Media have continued despite the change of government.

Te Reo in its place

New Zealanders generally accept that some words of Maori origin such as whanau (family) and mana (stature) are now part of Kiwi English.

There is no problem if part-Maori and others wish to speak in Te Reo on marae and at other gatherings, but the invented language should not be imposed on the general public in official names, in the introductions on radio and television, and casually dropped into newspaper and magazine articles.

Hopefully the incoming government will end the Te Reo obsession as part of their program to get New Zealand back on track.

There was quite a victory list for those who have fought against the fascist tyranny of the Ardern-Hipkins government of the last 3 years

The libertarian community has fought hard for our rights these past three years, and that unrelenting effort and carefully planned strategy was finally reflected in the detail of the coalition documents between National and New Zealand First and National and ACT. You can read both of the agreements here as well as the full list of cabinet positions.

From the NZ First / National Coalition Agreement:

• Ensure a ‘National Interest Test’ is undertaken before New Zealand accepts any agreements from the UN and its agencies that limit national decision-making and reconfirm that New Zealand’s domestic law holds primacy over any international agreements.
• As part of the above, by December 1 2023, reserve against proposed amendments to WHO health regulations to allow the incoming Government to consider these against a “National Interest Test.”
• Refocus the curriculum on academic achievement and not ideology, including removing and replacing the gender, sexuality, and relationship-based education guidelines.
• End all Covid-19 vaccine mandates still in operation.
• Ensure, as a matter of urgency in establishment and completion, a full-scale, wide-ranging, independent inquiry conducted publicly with local and international experts into how the Covid pandemic was handled in New Zealand.
• Protect freedom of speech by ruling out the introduction of hate speech legislation and stopping the Law Commission’s work on hate speech legislation.
• Ensure all public service departments have their primary names in English, except those specifically related to Māori.
• Legislate to make English an official language of New Zealand.
• Ensure publicly funded sporting bodies support fair competition that is not compromised by rules relating to gender.
• Abolish the Māori Health Authority.
• Repeal the Therapeutic Products Act 2023.
• Commit that in the absence of a referendum, our Government will not change the official name of New Zealand.
• Cancel Auckland Light Rail and Let’s Get Wellington Moving and reduce cycleway expenditure.
• Investigate the strategic opportunities in New Zealand’s mineral resources.
• Ensure that climate change policies are aligned and do not undermine national energy security.
• The Coalition Government will work to improve outcomes for all New Zealanders, and will not advance policies that seek to ascribe different rights and responsibilities to New Zealanders on the basis of their race or ancestry.
• Stop all work on He Puapua.
• Confirm that the Coalition Government does not recognise the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) as having any binding legal effect on New Zealand.

The People’s Letter opposing dictatorial WHO Globalism

As stated above, the coalition parties have indicated they want to reserve their decision regarding the IHR amendments so they can consider these against a National Interest Test, which is fantastic!

The problem of the amendments to the IHRs still needs to be resolved, however. The new government needs to reject the proposed timeframe changes and the IHR amendments. So the Voices for Freedom team has ‘The People’s Letter’ to be sent to the NZ Government, urging them to reject the amendments by the 1 December deadline.

This is very compelling viewing – a must to be viewed by everyone.   Another courageous person, this time a Palestinian whose father created Hamas, is speaking.  His warning for the world is dire.  Here is another inside account, graphic, of the way Hamas controls the Palestinians.  Hamas must be eradicated.

We had roughly 100,000 immigrants into New Zealand last year.  Who are they, where are they, where are they from?  How on earth did the Immigration Department, known for its ineptitude, manage to check and process and OK so many in one year.  How many per day is that?  It is 273 per day, seven days a week.  Are you kidding me – the Immigration Department managed that?   

New Cabinet Minister Erica Stanford this morning on the AM Show mentioning immigrants who also illegally came into New Zealand under refugee status – she indicated there were very many of these.  I am concerned that we will soon be seeing the same riots and attacks as are going on in Europe, perpetrated by Muslim immigrants, mentioned by the above speaker.   

I went to Sydney’s Bankstown, about 10 years ago when my son lived there and to the one of the biggest malls in Bankstown about mid-morning.  It was full of Muslim women in burkas pushing strollers with myriads of children.  They could not be missed.  It worried me then.  They do not smile at you and are not friendly.  What private thoughts are they harbouring?    My son was in the Federal Police and was involved with at least one riot perpetrated by radical Muslims at that time and said it was chilling. Mark my words.  Don’t worry about Netanyahu and Blinken, and concentrate on the real problem – radical Muslim immigrants who will maraud and rape, when the time is right.

It’s probably worth noting at this point in history that the total number of children killed in Gaza has just surpassed the number of children the International Criminal Court indicted Russian president Vladimir Putin for relocating OUT of a war zone.

A recent estimate by Gaza authorities puts the number of Palestinian children killed by Israel’s bombing campaign over the last seven weeks at just above the six thousand mark. This number comes from the Gaza Media Office, which is only able to make unconfirmed estimates since the Gaza Health Ministry who normally reports such numbers has lost the ability to count the dead effectively due to communications collapse caused by the bombing. 

In March of this year — ironically on the 20th anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq — ICC judges issued an arrest warrant charging Putin with war crimes in Ukraine. The allegations? The “unlawful deportation” of some six thousand Ukrainian children to a network of “re-education” camps inside Russia. 

As The Grayzone documented at the time, the ICC charges were based on a Yale HRL report which is rife with contradictions, plot holes, and the fairly significant conflict of interest of being funded by the US State Department. The report itself acknowledges that it found “no documentation of child mistreatment,” and that nearly all of the children were returned to their families in a timely manner.

But even if these points were all false and Vladimir Putin did just illegally kidnap six thousand Ukrainian kids to turn them into Russians, would that be worse than murdering them by dropping powerful military explosives on areas known to be packed full of children? Why is one a war crime and the other apparently fine? Russia is no more a party to the ICC’s Rome Statute than Israel is, after all.

This article in Egypt Today, while designed to look like a statement of solidarity with Palestinians, is really a reaffirmation of Egypt’s intent to keep Gazans out.

In 2014, Egypt expanded its Gaza isolation zone to 1 km from the border, creating greater security for Israel as well and exposing the total hypocrisy of the outside world. If Israel had done or even threatened to do something similar, the outcry would have been deafening and there would probably have been a Security Council resolution the U.S. would be hard-pressed to veto. Additionally, in interviews with French TV and during his visit to Italy, the president stated that Egypt would protect Israel from attacks from Egyptian territory and would be willing to send troops to Palestinian areas “…to assist the Palestinian police in preventing attacks on Israel”.

The following year, 2015, an Egyptian court listed Hamas as a terrorist organisation, accusing it of supporting an insurgency in northern Sinai. The ruling came a month after a different court labelled the armed wing of Hamas as a terrorist group. The court rulings effectively banned Hamas within Egypt.

“It has been proven without any doubt that the movement has committed acts of sabotage, assassinations and the killing of innocent civilians and members of the armed forces and police in Egypt,” Judge Mohamed el-Sayed said, according to state news agency Mena.

This should explain why Egypt built strong fortifications along its 12 km border with Gaza and has rigorously enforced them. Those who try to cross the land border illegally get shot at, as do those who stray into Egyptian territory on the beach or in the coastal waters.

The Hamas tunnels into Eygpt have been filled with water or gas and underground vibrations indicating tunneling result in the Egyptians detonating explosives on the ground to collapse them.

It’s clear that both Egypt and Israel view each other as allies in the ongoing battle against Islamic extremists and neither want an influx of indocrinated Gazans into their countries. Obviously, both have an enormous public relations headache now with the level of destruction in Gaza from the military action and the cost of reconstructing it to make it habitable again is going to be huge.

On the subject of the Hamas attack on Israel of 7 October, Egypt’s Intelligence Minister General Abbas Kamel personally called PM Netanyahu only 10 days before the massive attack that Gazans were likely to do “something unusual, a terrible operation,” according to the Ynet news site. But the warning was ignored — why?

Here in NZ we have and will continue to have the problem of willfully ignorant neo-Marxists who just see the issue in terms of their “Muslims good, Jews bad” ideology, just like their “Maori good, Pakeha bad” ideology.
