Roly is a Kapiti artist specialising in historic transport subjects and he thus follows in the footsteps of Wallace Trickett who has now moved to Feilding. The solo exhibition of about 50 works is currently in the foyer area of the Paraparaumu library and for those who have any reason to visit the Coastlands area or the KCDC HQ (‘The Kapiti Kremlin’) is worth a look. All the paintings are for sale.

This is based on a well-known 1915 photo showing an A class 4-6-2 type steam locomotive with a mail train to Wellington leaving Paekakakriki.
