Like it or not, they are all politicians. Back in 2020, Radio NZ itself reported that trust in politicians and journalists was low, with only 22 percent of New Zealanders giving politicians the thumbs up in recent polls: “the latest survey showed they were still the least trusted group.” There are naturally some exceptions, but as a collective group…
Not much better: Only 35 percent of people surveyed had trust in people who work for the government.
- “Hey now baby, get into my big black car. I wanna just show you what my politics are.”
- “I support the left, tho’ I’m leanin’ to the right. But I’m just not there when, when it’s coming to a fight.”
- “I’m a Political man and I practice what I preach. But don’t deny me baby, when you’re in my reach.”
Groucho Marx should be compulsory school reading.
What a homourless lot many of us have become.
‘If you don’t like my principles, I’ve got plenty of others’
What we badly need today in NZ is better principals.
Problem is local Councillors, Mayors, Politicians all seem to forget they are put into power by the ratepayer or the citizens of the country so they can run the business and manage our assets. People seem to forget is that local Govt. or the elected Governments do not own a brass monkey. It is all owned by ratepayers or the countries citizens and that includes paying their exorbitant salaries, luxurious expenses, Travel and pensions. Time they were put into their place and told that they work for us! Not us working for them. A good laugh a day keeps you sane.
