A group of masked Muslim protesters took to the streets of east London yesterday, vowing to “stand firm” and remain “ready to defend our community” in response to a planned United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) protest.
Hundreds of young men dressed in black and wearing balaclavas marched through Whitehall as part of a counter-demonstration. Palestinian and Bangladeshi flags were waved, and photos showed protesters pausing to pray in the street.

‘Four counter-protesters have been arrested during a protest by the United Kingdom Independence Party (Ukip) in central London, the Metropolitan Police said.
‘The protesters were arrested after appearing along a route designated for the Ukip march, in breach of conditions put in place by the force.’
I have to admit I expected something more exciting, given your reference to ‘jihad rampage’. More along the lines of the rampages of Tommy Robinson’s thugs, perhaps.
It sounds like the sort of toned down and glossed over reportage you’d expect from BBC/ITV/Guardian/Metro — why not be honest and specify where you got that frm instead of “UK reports”?
