Many thousands went to the medium size town of Giessen, which has a population of approximately 90,000, this past weekend, a lot to support the creation of a new youth organization by the centre-right political party AfD.
But along came the Antifa Leftist fascists too: police reported on Saturday morning that they were marching through the downtown. Authorities expected as many as 50,000 of them throughout the Reich to arrive in the university town.
A turbulent course for the congress was expected, as calls for violence circulated from the pro-war Leftists. Police needed a massive presence, deploying helicopters, drones, and water cannons.
The AfD — Alternative for Germany — is launching a successor to its former youth organization to be called Generation Deutschland. The former group, Junge Alternative, was designated extremist by the pro-war Regierung and disbanded.
