Like last year, the furore over the KCDC’s announced rates grab for the next financial year boosted pageviews and, particularly, visitor numbers.

Most Waikanae people are going to be hit with increases between 8% and 15%.  And what do we see for it?  Money to be squandered on things we don’t need, like the changes to the Main Road, while continuing neglect of things we do — like a new enlarged Mahara Gallery.

But we also like to post about positive things, and it’s good to see the interest from other countries in Waikanae, which represent about 12% of the total numbers.
