Controlled Rabbit Culling has been engaged by the Waikanae Golf Course to carry out pest animal eradication, specifically targeting Canadian Geese. The tally from last week’s shoot was; Canada Goose 7, Rabbits 79, Hare 1, Possum 54. 

Originally pest animal culling was to be on a monthly event, but the strategy has now been revised to an, “On call response,” whenever the geese arrive. 

The purpose of this email is to advise the community that shooting is to take place on the Golf Course, at approximately midnight tonight, Thursday 18 April 2024. This disturbance will only last for a short time and I apologize in advance for the disturbance. 

If you have any rabbits, possums or geese on your property which you need to eradicate, please feel encouraged to txt me. Txt is best as my phone and I operate on silent mode when hunting.
